TheSportExchange announces strategic deal with Croatian Football Federation

TheSportExchange, a performance-linked digital asset marketplace, has announced a multi-year strategic partnership with Croatian Football Federation (HNS), the governing body of Croatia’s national football team.

As part of the partnership, Croatia Keys are now live on the platform.

The digital participation assets are tied to Croatia’s performance across international tournaments on an ongoing basis.

TheSportExchange said only 21,000 Croatia Keys will ever exist, with the supply cap enforced at the protocol level and unable to be altered by the platform, the federation, or third parties.

According to the company, 3,100 Keys have been issued so far at a current protocol price of $115.38.

TheSportExchange operates a decentralized marketplace where Keys are issued and priced through an automated protocol rather than by the platform or the federation.

When Croatia performs in international competitions, the protocol’s Performance Pool triggers buybacks that benefit Key holders collectively.

Users seeking liquidity can redeem directly through the protocol without requiring a counterparty or waiting period.

“Croatia is one of the most passionate football nations on earth,” said Steve van Zutphen, Founder and CEO of TheSportExchange.

“Their fans don’t just watch — they believe. This partnership gives that belief a new form of expression. Not betting. Not fantasy. Something entirely new: a direct stake in the team’s performance, with protocol-guaranteed liquidity and transparent mechanics.”

Key details

The partnership launches ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where Croatia’s national football team will aim to continue its recent tournament success following a runner-up finish in 2018 and third place in 2022.

According to TheSportExchange, Croatia Keys will remain active throughout the tournament, with the protocol’s Performance Pool responding to match results.

  • Maximum supply: 21,000 Keys, enforced at the protocol level
  • Currently issued: 3,100 Keys
  • Current protocol price: $115.38
  • Coverage: International competitions, including the World Cup, Euros, Nations League, and qualifiers
  • Duration: Perpetual, with no expiry
  • Liquidity: Instant redemption through the protocol at any time

Croatia Keys are currently available through the TheSportExchange marketplace.
